Things To Know Before Your Hunting Trip
Prepare for your axis deer hunting trip with Kaluakoi Outfitters by packing all necessary items. While transportation and lodging are taken care of, here are the items you are responsible for bringing along:
Valid Hawaii Hunting License easily obtained with a hunter education number at: http://hunting.ehawaii.gov
Meals, Including Drinks for the Duration of Your Hunt
Bags to Store the Meat
Cooler to Pack the Meat

50% Deposit Required at time of booking
72 hour cancellation required
No refund issued, unless your slot is rebooked
Hunting Trip Insurance suggested
If you forget to pack food, a $100 fee will be added for each guest. We will grocery shop for you, but an additional 10% of the total bill will be charged back as a convenience fee. In case you forget to pack something, the following items will be for sale at our hunting area:
Bottled Water (Individual or Case)
Healthy Snack Bars
Plastic Bags to Store Meat
Soft Cooler Bags
Other supplies can be acquired from town for an additional fee.

What To Expect While on Your Deer Hunt
Enjoy your Hawaii axis deer hunting trip safely with Kaluakoi Outfitters. Each hunter is allowed two animals; one buck below 27" and a doe OR two does. The terrain is rocky in some areas, along with thick brush, which may be difficult to traverse in some areas. It may be useful to have a shooting stick and binoculars. Caliber less than .223 is not allowed. We ask our hunters to wear hunter orange in the field. Archers are welcomed as well. Your guide will help debone your animal and ice it; further processing is not available.
We have strict safety standards in place to protect our guests and guides. In addition to demonstrating appropriate and respectful behavior at all times, the following safety measures are strictly enforced on all deer hunting trips:
Firearms MUST be unloaded when not in use.
Firearms are to be unloaded and placed in the outdoor gun rack between hunts.
Always keep the barrel of your firearm pointed in a safe direction.
Ammunition is not allowed in the chamber of the firearm while riding in the UTV.
Firearms are to always be on safety but do not rely on it.
Treat all firearms as if they are loaded and ready to fire.
Always know your target and beyond. If shooting an animal with antlers 27" or greater, you will be responsible for the trophy fee.
Always follow your guide’s instructions.
Hunter orange is required in the field.
